Since Boxing Day, Rasmus Hojlund has converted a staggering 47% of his shots, scoring nine goals from a meagre 19 shots. As it has been clear all season, the 21-year-old’s potential is off the charts, especially if and when he finally receives service from the players around him. Alejandro Garnacho could’ve helped him open his account earlier in today’s game, but instead selfishly chose to shoot, much to the Dane’s ire. If the Red Devils are going to fare better next term, it is essential to supply Hojlund with passes and sign a striker to support him and enable him to rest.

The former Atalanta man finishes the on an impressive 16 goals, showing signs of huge potential in what has been an extremely dysfunctional Manchester United side.

Diogo Dalot’s rebirth

Few Manchester United fans would have had Diogo Dalot being the team’s most consistent player on their bingo cards at the start of the term, but the Portuguese right-back has turned in a player of the season worthy campaign. A goal today put some gloss on what has been a fantastic season for him, being one of the only Red Devils’ defenders to have avoided serious injury and making the right-back slot his own.

Casemiro: There May Be Life In The Old Dog Yet

After a difficult year in which the Brazilian struggled both in his natural central midfield position and also covering at centre-back amid an extensive injury crisis, Casemiro put in a commanding performance, showcasing his defensive nous alongside the returning Lisandro Martinez. He also added an impressive assist, his long, chipped pass into Dalot’s path setting Erik ten Hag’s side on the way to three points.

Over the course of the entire season, there is little argument that a summer separation would still probably be best for all parties, but Casemiro’s performance today served to show that there is still life in the 32-year-old’s legs.
