Kansas City Chiefs’ ‘Terrifying’ Aspect Revealed By Former NFL Quarterback
Kevin Jairaj-USA TODAY Sports

The Kansas City Chiefs reloaded their roster with new talent during the NFL offseason this year. At the wide receiver position, it was clear that they prioritized adding more dynamic weapons for Patrick Mahomes to work with.

Marquise “Hollywood” Brown was signed in free agency in one of the most underrated moves of the offseason. His addition alone will open up the big play for Mahomes down the field. Xavier Worthy was also drafted in the 2024 NFL Draft and comes with elite speed and playmaking abilities as well.

As has been the case since Mahomes joined the Kansas City Chiefs, the team has been all about the big play. That changed a bit in 2023, which was a concern, but they have improved where they needed to in order to bring that aspect of their offense back.

Now, one former NFL quarterback is speaking about about how the Chiefs’ elite playmaking and speed offensively is “terrifying” for opposing defense to go up against.

Kansas City Chiefs’ “Terrifying” Aspect Revealed By Former NFL QB

David Carr, a former NFL quarterback and current analyst, spoke out about the Kansas City Chiefs and why their offseason moves are “terrifying” for opponents.

“It’s got to be terrifying for the rest of the league to see the Super Bowl champions get better in the offseason. Everyone’s trying to catch them, all they do is just create more space for their tight end. And that’s really what this is about. You mentioned it, creating space, obviously for the run game but those speed guys, just like you said, they don’t necessarily have to be completions. It’s just the fact that they’re down there, it creates so much room in between the numbers where Patrick loves to work with Travis.”

That is a very good point from Carr. Not only do the moves of adding Brown and Worthy help them make bigger plays down the field, they also force defenses to stay honest. No longer will opponents be able to key in on stopping Travis Kelce alone.

Add in the fact that Rashee Rice could be available at some point this season, depending on what punishment the NFL hands down for his off-the-field issues, and the offense looks even more dangerous.

Back when the Kansas City Chiefs had Tyreek Hill, defenses had no answer for their offense. Kelce was always open and when they focused on him, Hill burned them down the field.

It’s clear that the Chiefs’ front office realized that they needed to get more explosive after last season. They were able to do just that and it will give opposing defensive coordinators nightmares in 2024.
