The Roast of Tom Brady was historically funny. Everyone in the New England Patriots dynasty from the 2000s to the 2010s was present. Whether it was Julian Edelman or Bill Belichick, no one was safe from getting jabbed at. A lot of individuals inside and outside the world of the NFL enjoyed it. But, it would not have been possible had the former signal caller been a bad sport. Jay Leno absolutely loved every single part of how the legendary quarterback kept his demeanor.

Some people often walk out or make statements about how livid they were after getting roasted. Obviously, some jokes during the Roast of Tom Brady did go out of bounds at times. But, the Patriots and NFL legend did not go out of his way to get mad during the live taping of the event. Jay Leno outlined why this was such a great display of character for Bill Belichick’s former mentee, via Lanae Brody of Fox News.

“I thought Tom Brady was a good sport, considering how people just roasted him. He’s not a comic. Look, it’s a jock event. It’s all jocks. I mean, usually, that’s done in the back room of a big restaurant, and it gets really bawdy, and the fact that it’s on TV, it’s probably not to everybody’s taste, but you’re going to their space. They’re not coming into ours. But I thought it was fun,” the renowned media personality declared.

Comedians like Jeff Ross and Kevin Hart took some light punches at Tom Brady’s life. Julian Edelman had some rips on the Patriots quarterback’s time during his playing days. Some people like Nikki Glaser had heavy hitters when it came to their family and personal lives. The variance when it came to the jokes was clearly there. Nonetheless, Tom Brady still remained composed.

Patriots legend keeps his cool

Jay Leno specifically loved how Nikki Glaser joked about Tom Brady. The famous TV personality even went on to praise her for her extremely hilarious performances in this roast.

“As long as it’s funny, it’s good. Nikki Glaser killed me. She was really funny. A lot of people might say it’s inappropriate, but if it’s really funny, it makes it OK,” he said.

Another very well-renowned individual who caught some flak after the roast was Kim Kardashian. The model and businesswoman got booed on stage but that did not stop her from making jokes. Leno posits that avid spectators of comedy and some rabid Patriots fans should just chill out.

“I like Kim. She’s a nice person. She’s a lawyer. How many people have that much money and go to law school, really? I give her a lot of — I’m the one that named her daughter North. I did. Did you know that? Yeah, on ‘The Tonight Show.’ She was like, ‘Ooh, I like that,” he unveiled.

There is a lot to learn about comedy and keeping composure. Thankfully, Tom Brady knows it quite well for him not to lash out despite the big bombs dropped on his NFL career and his family.
