The Minnesota Timberwolves’ superstar duo of Anthony Edwards and Karl-Anthony Towns showed the entire basketball world what they’re made of on Sunday night. The pair willed their team to a Game 7 victory against the defending champs Denver Nuggets to book their place in the Western Conference Finals against the Dallas Mavericks.
Timberwolves legend Kevin Garnett has sounded off on this elite partnership as the former NBA MVP shared his thoughts on how he believes these two can take Minnesota to the next level.
At this point, there is still an ongoing debate as to who the alpha should be for the Wolves. Towns has been with the squad for nearly a decade now, and he has long been the organization’s cornerstone superstar. Edwards, however, has firmly established himself as one of the top young stars in the league today, and many consider him to be the future face of the NBA.
For Garnett, however, it’s not about who comes out on top. While KG points out that Edwards is “too big of a personality to be Robin,” he also believes that it’s not about who among the pair needs to take a step back. Rather, these two have to figure out how they will be able to “go forward together.”

Spoken like a true legend.
The last time the Wolves were in the Conference Finals was in 2004 when Garnett led them to the farthest they’ve gone in the postseason in franchise history. Right now, Edward, Towns, and the rest of the team have an opportunity to reach incredibly new heights.
